A surprisingly high number of new COVID-19 cases were reported by Interior Health today.

The health authority had 13 new cases of the virus over the past 24 hours.

It’s only the second time since July 24 that the BC Interior has had 13 or more cases in a single day, the other being 10 days ago when 14 were reported on Oct. 11.

Currently, there are 47 active cases in the BC Interior.

Two people are in hospital due to COVID-19, one of them in intensive care.

IH has two active outbreaks at the moment.

One is at a FedEx depot at the Kelowna International Airport, while the other is at the Tim Hortons in Merritt, which remains closed at this time.
