Interior Health reports 26 new COVID-19 cases, and no deaths

An additional 26 cases were reported in the BC Interior over the past 24 hours.

This brings the region's total active case count to 299, making a total of 12,971 since the start of the pandemic. 

There are currently 13 people hospitalized, with seven of them being in critical care.  

There have been no COVID-19 related deaths in the interior for the past two days, as the total number of people lost to the virus still sits at 155. 

The vaccination program continues to move accordingly, with more than 670,000 total doses having been administered in the Interior.

Out of those COVID-19 vaccinations 163,445 have been second doses, and in the past 24 hours 11,440 vaccines were distributed. 

Dr. Bonnie Henry reminded citizens to be cautious while going out this Fathers Day. “Let's do our part and honour our fathers by protecting them with our own COVID-19 vaccine."
