Interior Health reports 61 new cases of COVID-19 and 2 more deaths

Another 61 cases of COVID-19 were identified in the BC Interior over the past 24 hours.

It brings the region to 5,374 total cases since the start of the pandemic, with 1,055 currently active.

There are 29 people hospitalized due to COVID-19 in the Interior Health region right now, seven of them are in intensive care.

Unfortunately, there were another two deaths to report today, one at Brocklehurst Gemstone in Kamloops and another in the community.

“It is with heavy hearts today that we report two additional deaths due to COVID-19 in Interior Health. Our sympathy goes out to their loved ones and caregivers,” said Susan Brown, president and CEO of IH.0

“Each death is a reminder of the devastating impact of this pandemic, and a reminder to all of us of the very real need to follow provincial health orders and direction.”
