It was on this original Love Boat that Steven and Shauna Jones’ love story began.
Both working to provide the highest level of service for their clients aboard the already famous cruise ship in the 1990’s, the Englishman and the Canadian fell for one another while sailing the magical blue waters that surround the Abaco Islands.
Clean, friendly and full of life, Abaco holds a special place in Steven and Shauna’s hearts.
Longing for the life full of possibilities back home in Canada, but not willing to give up beautiful beaches all together, the enamored couple set their sights on the gem of this country: Kelowna, BC, where they set anchor in 2005.
With the new beginning came the opportunity to start something of their own, a dream of Steven’s since he was a young lad. It wasn’t long before the flag was planted in the sand and Abaco Health Foods claimed its land in the Lower Mission.
Welcomed with open arms by the locals of the land, the health food store combined the Jones’ roots in the Bahamas with their expertise in Nutritional Medicine to provide us all with a little piece of paradise.
For years, locals would visit asking for CBD products to help them with pain or sleeping, but Abaco Health Foods was not the place.
With the legalization of cannabis pending and the space next door vacant, the Jones’ saw an opportunity for the perfect marriage.
On July 3rd, 2020, locals of the Mission area rejoiced at last as the first cannabis store south of Springfield Rd opened its doors under the name Cannabission.
