Complaints of mould on dried marijuana have led to cannabis company RedeCan to recall one of its products in Ontario and B.C.
In a statement, the company said that the recall applied to a single lot of a particular strain called “B.E.C.” and packaged in 3.5 gram containers, with the code 4B2L3.
According to RedeCan, over the course of five days, five complaints were received that a product contained mould. The five complaints were related to “B.E.C. Lot 4B2L3,” of which RedeCan had shipped 13,344 units.
“We ask that consumers not consume the product described below as we investigate the source of the complaints,” reads the statement.
“Being a family run, privately owned company we have the best interest of our consumers at heart, and we have decided to conduct a Type II voluntary recall of BEC 4B2L3. Safety and satisfaction is a top priority of RedeCan.”
The recall was first announced in Ontario last week after several complaints were received by the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) that a product contained mould.
If consumed and the customer becomes ill, RedeCan recommends seeing a doctor immediately.
