Statistics Canada has released the results of an extensive National Cannabis Survey providing the latest information about cannabis use in the country.
The results drew upon data from the second quarter (April-June) of 2019 and focused on how cannabis is consumed differently between males and females in Canada.
According to Statistics Canada, men are almost twice as likely to use cannabis as women and are also more likely to use cannabis for non-medical reasons.
Dried flower and hashish are also more commonly used by males, while females are almost twice as likely to use cannabis products like edibles, oil cartridges and vapes.
However, smoking flower remains the most popular way for Canadians to consume cannabis, with approximately two thirds of males and females choosing the standard smoking method.
Roughly 4.9 million Canadians over the age of 15 reported using cannabis over the past three months, a number that remains unchanged from the same period in 2018 before legalization.
