Cannabis edibles, concentrates, beverages and topicals will officially become legalized this week in Canada on Thursday, Oct. 17.

However, the new products will not actually be available for purchase until mid-December at the earliest.

The delay is due to Health Canada’s 60-day review period for new products, making Dec. 16 the earliest possible date stores can order from suppliers.

It’s believed that a small supply of concentrated vape products, chocolate-based edibles and a limited assortment of beverages will be the first products available.

Health Canada has also implemented strict regulations surrounding dose limits and advertising for each product.
