A tentative local agreement with the Okanagan College (OC) faculty involves a 5.5 per cent wage increase.

OC announced this week that they had reached a tentative local agreement with the Okanagan College Faculty Association, which represents about 255 professors. The agreement was reached on Tuesday after an agreement in early February between the Post-Secondary Employers Association and faculty of various institutions that are represented by the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of BC (FPSE). Okanagan College was one of the institutions whose faculty was represented by FPSE in the provincial settlement.

This tentative provincial template settlement is for five years from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2019. This settlement includes a 5.5 per cent wage increase over five years with possible increases if the provincial economy exceeds forecasts by the Economic Forecast Council.

Officials still have yet to determine dates for the College Board of Governors and the Faculty Association to consider the tentative settlement.
