Hundreds of people came together at Big White Saturday, but they weren’t there just to hit the slopes.
In honour of Canadian Ski Patrol Day, hundreds of people gathered at Big White Ski Resort to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most snow angels made at one time.
Saturday February 6th marked Canadian Ski Patrol Day, a day honouring the men and women who work to keep ski resorts across the country safe for the public.
Canadian Ski Patrol came up with the idea to try and set a world record for the most snow angels made.

According to a statement made by the Canadian Ski Patrol, alpine and Nordic areas from coast to coast signed up to take part. Those participating were asked to provide a location of the event and information about what method would be used to count participants.
In total, Canadian Ski Patrol recorded 9,886 angels made at 46 different resorts across Canada.

Big White Ski Resort shared their attempted with an aerial video showing hundreds of people making snow angels on the hill.
The record came up just short, but organizers said it was still an incredible result.
The Canadian Ski Patrol is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year, having been operational since 1941.
