Kelowna Hotel Evacuated Early Monday Morning

Update (11:34 a.m.): Kelowna RCMP have confirmed that just after 1:00a.m on Monday morning, police received a report of a bomb threat at the Accent Inn located in the 1100 block of Harvey Avenue. 

An employee of the hotel took a call from an unknown person, who stated there was a bomb in the building. 

Police immediately responded to the hotel, and with the support of the Kelowna Fire Department and BC Ambulance Service, evacuated 30 rooms in the hotel. 

Two police dogs trained in detecting explosive materials searched the hotel, but nothing of interest or concern was found. 

Guests were allowed back in their rooms following the completion of the search. 

Kelowna RCMP said they are continuing to investigate who was responsible for making the false call.

A Kelowna hotel, Accent Inns, was evacuated overnight Monday after police received reports of a possible threat.

Kelowna RCMP said they did attend the scene, and the hotel was evacuated as a precaution while officers and two police dogs searched the premises.

Upon the completion of their search, it was determined the report had been false and guests were allowed back into their rooms.

Kelowna RCMP are expected to released more information on the incident later Monday morning.
