99.9 Sun FM morning host Christy Farrell will be saying goodbye to the Okanagan and hello to the world of country.

The Kelowna radio host will be leaving SUN FM 99.9 at the end of April for a job at the Wild 95.3 in Calgary where she will be the morning show host with the new country station.

SUN FM General Manager, Ken Kilcullen said while he is sad to see Farrell go, he is excited for her move and new chapter in Calgary.

Farrell has been on and off with Bell Media for close to 10 years and with 99.9 SUN FM for a couple of years.

99.9 SUN FM has seen a number of changes to their airwaves in the last two years.

On February 10th, 2014, morning show duo Kevin Lim and Sonia Sidhu left their positions as morning show hosts on 99.9 SUN FM after three years for a position in Vancouver.

The morning show was taken over by former afternoon host Ian MacKinnon, who was later joined by Farrell. MacKinnon parted ways with SUN FM shortly after to take radio position in Edmonton. He was briefly replaced with Elliott Lovejoy, who suddenly departed the station earlier this year.

Farrell’s current co-host is Brian Mack, who is a long time announcer with the station.

The radio host won’t be making her move until the end of April. The search is now on for yet another morning show host for 99.9 SUN FM.
