Snow has fallen in the Okanagan.

Admittedly, there’s not that much of it, but both the Big White Ski Resort and the Merritt connector received a light dusting of the white stuff today.

Earlier this afternoon, Big White posted a photo of its snow-covered slopes to Facebook, eliciting excitement from at least a few commenters.

“[Sixty-six] days until the chair lifts start spinning and the snow has already arrived on the mountain! Keep up the snow dancing - it's working,” the post read.

The early afternoon also saw some powder fall on the Pennask Summit on Highway 97c. Traffic cameras from DriveBC showed a slight dusting of snow lying in roadside ditches and creeping onto the highway.

As of 3 p.m. the snow on the highway had almost entirely melted away. Summer officially ends this Friday.

How do you feel about today’s snowfall? Are you a skier itching to strap up and do some carving, or are you squirming in anxiety at the thought of winter driving?
