Lake Country councilor, Matt Vader has resigned from his position as councilor and has accepted a position as the Manager of Strategic and Support Services in the municipality for Lake Country.

Vader starts his new position at Lake Country Municipal Hall on April 10th, 2017.

This leaves a vacancy in council and therefore a by-election is planned for June 24th for the Carr’s Landing ward.

A second by-election is also planned for June 24th, due to the passing of Oyama councilor, Owen Dickie on March 6th.

Registered voters of Oyama are able to vote in a new councilor for the Oyama ward only.

There is also now an allowance for mail ballot voting in a by-election.

The change came down on March 21st when it was presented by Corporate Services Manager, Reyna Seabrook.
