Due to high winds in the Okanagan, more than 4,200 homes in West Kelowna, Peachland and Summerland are without power.
According to Weather Stats, winds at the Kelowna Airport were clocked at a maximum speed of 66.6 km/h at 11 a.m. on October 17th.

"Damaging winds have caused multiple outages to customers in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island and Interior," stated BC Hydro.
As of noon, winds had decreased to between 35 and 54 km/h.
The following is a list of the power outages in the Okanagan as of Tuesday, October 17th:
11:17 a.m.
About 155 homes are without power in West Kelowna (North of Bartley Road and West of McDougall Road).
11:56 a.m.
Five homes lost power in Peachland at the 5900 block of Victoria Street.
12:00 p.m.
About 1,572 homes are without power in Peachland and West Kelowna (North of Beach Ave, West of Gellatly Road, East of HWY 97C).
12:07 p.m.
More than 2,500 homes are without power in Peachland, Summerland and West Kelowna (South of Elliott Road, East of Princeton Ave, North of HWY 97 and West of HWY 97).
12:12 p.m.
About five homes are without power in West Kelowna in the 3800 block of Glenrosa Road.
BC Hydro expects the outages to increase until the winds die off.
Crews have been dispatched to different regions of BC to restore power as quickly as possible.
Exact restoration times, however are not available.
