There’s nothing like spending some time nestled away in a cabin surrounded by an old growth forest. Clear your mind and give yourself a chance to spend some time in nature with this prize.

For Day 6 of the NowCities 13 Days of Christmas Giveaways, we are giving readers a chance to win a two night stay at a picturesque cabin valued at over $600, courtesy of Kootenay Forest Cabin.

The Cabin

This luxurious private escape is located five minutes from Nakusp, with 180 degree views of the surrounding mountains and lake.

Curl up with your favourite beverage and enjoy the lakefront from the outdoor patio or take in the beautiful views of Saddleback Mountain and Arrow Lakes out of almost every window in the cabin.

Inside you’ll find two cozy bedrooms (three beds), one bathroom, a large open living space adorned with modern furniture and a wood fireplace to keep you toasty and warm on cold nights.

Other amenities include room darkening shades to guarantee a good night's sleep and a sound system to play your favourite morning tunes.

The Surrounding Area

Hidden away in a forest full of old growth hemlock, cedar and fir trees and surrounded by a blanket of moss on the forest floor, this cabin showcases the natural beauty of the local area.

You’ll be five minutes from all the restaurants, bars, and local markets Nakusp has to offer, and not much further from local historic mining towns including New Denver, Sandon and Kaslo.

Plus, if you’re interested in enjoying the hot springs, the Kootenay cabin is only 25-45 minutes away from Nakusp and Halcyon, as well as two completely natural hot springs set in the old growth forest.

If you’ve got outdoor hobbies such as skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, or rock climbing, prepare to indulge!

Within a one hour radius you’ll find a variety of fun hikes at easily navigable locations like Saddle Mountain Lookout Trail and Wilson Falls.

The lake is perfect for fishing bull trout and rainbow trout, or if you’d like a more unique experience, head up to the mountain lakes or creek mouths.

You’ll find world class mountain biking at the well known local bike park, Mount Abriel.

Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or prefer the comforts of the indoors, Kootenay Lakehouse is offering you the perfect vacation opportunity with a two night stay in a cabin on the lake.

Prize includes a two night stay any day of the week from Sunday to Thursday nights, anytime prior to the end of April.
