One of Canada’s most exciting live acts is coming back to the Okanagan later this year.

Arkells announced a cross-country Canadian tour this morning and it includes a stop at Prospera Place in Kelowna on Thursday, Nov. 14.

While the band did headline the first ever AltiTunes in 2022, this will be their first show in Kelowna since their Rally Cry Tour in 2019.

A lot has happened for Arkells since that show in 2019, as they’ve released four studio albums and another is on the way.

The four albums released in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 were called Campfire Chords, Blink Once, Blink Twice and Laundry Pile, and a record of high-energy covers called Disco Loadout Vol 1 is coming out in May.

That means there are plenty of new tunes that BC Interior fans will be hearing live for the first time in a few years, but they’re sure to play plenty of their older hits as well.

There will also likely be a new Arkells single in the rotation at that point as well, judging by frontman Max Kerman’s comments about the tour this morning.

“Our band has always been about the sing-a-longs at the show, and we plan to make them louder than ever,” noted Kerman. “You might even need to learn the words to a new one... It’s the BIG FEELINGS Tour for all the big feelings we need to let out.”

For fans expecting to buy tickets for the Kelowna show, there is a little mystery surrounding that one date on the BIG FEELINGS Tour.

The band has named four different openers for various parts of the tour, which includes K.Flay for the other two British Columbia shows in Vancouver and Victoria, but Kelowna’s show does not have an opener yet.

Maybe it ends up being K.Flay opening up in Kelowna as well, or maybe they’ll grab a different band or even a local act to perform on Nov. 14, but we will have to wait and see.

Fan presales for the BIG FEELINGS Tour begin today at noon PDT, but general onsale begins at 10 am PDT on Friday, April 26.

You can learn more and get a link for tickets through the Arkells website.
