Barack and Michelle Obama enter multi-year agreement with Netflix

If you’re a fan of Barack and Michelle Obama, you should make sure your Netflix subscription is up to date.

The influential couple have entered into a multi-year agreement with the streaming service, which will see them produce a number of films and series.

The Obamas will produce a various pieces of content, including scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries and features.
 


There will be no geographical restrictions, meaning the content will be available to all Netflix users across 190 countries.

“One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience,” said the former president.

“That’s why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix – we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world.”

Michelle added that her and Barack “have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire us.”

The Obamas have established Higher Ground Productions as the entity under which they’ll produce this content for Netflix.
