Punk rock fans will be ready to roll it back about two decades at the South Okanagan Events Centre this fall.

Billy Talent has announced new tour dates that include a stop in Penticton on Friday, Oct. 13, and Gob is coming along as the opening act.

It’s been 30 years since Billy Talent formed in Ontario and 20 years since they truly broke out with their quadruple-platinum, self-titled 2003 album.

Their first five albums all hit at least single platinum and their sixth, 2022’s Crisis of Faith, looks like it could be well on its way to the same feat.

It has earned the band two Juno nominations and has landed three consecutive number one songs on Canadian rock radio.

British Columbia’s own Gob, also formed in 1993, have had a quieter career than Billy Talent, but broke out in a major way on the punk scene at a similar time.

The band's two most successful albums, The World According to Gob and Foot in Mouth Disease, were both released around that time and contained their most iconic hit songs.

That includes “I Heard You Calling,” “Oh! Ellin” and “Give Up the Grudge,” which were featured in NHL video game soundtracks, movies like American Pie and plenty more.

Tickets to see Billy Talent and Gob in Penticton this fall will go on sale at 10 am on Friday through Live Nation
