Kettle River Brewing is set to host the second annual Blitzen charitable concert event this Saturday, Dec. 27.
The evening will feature performances by violinist Chloe Davidson, singer-songwriter Dan Tait, folk quartet Kentucky Elieen and DJ Maple Jordan.
Organizers behind the event are hoping to make a lofty contribution towards the multifaceted non-profit New Opportunities for Women Canada’s innovative creative therapy program.
Since 1998, the non-profit has been providing front-line programs and services for women and youth who have experienced addictions, abuse, sexual exploitation and mental health challenges.
"We feel so grateful to live in a community where people show up with compassion for their neighbours in need," said co-organizer Joshua Smith.
"It seems that Kelowna is growing so fast and there are larger numbers of vulnerable people. Kettle River Brewing and the artists involved are not only amazing at what they do but they are aware of the issues in the community and have been incredibly enthusiastic in coming together to show their support. This event gets bigger and better every year!”
A minimum donation of $5, a non-perishable food item or gently used winter coat will get patrons in the door, with all donations and a portion of drink sales from the evening going towards the charitable initiative.
The music kicks off at 6 pm and runs until late.
