Danny Aiello of 'The Godfather Part II' and 'Do The Right Thing' dead at age 86

A veteran entertainer has died after an impressive film career. 

Danny Aiello, known for his roles in Do The Right Thing and The Godfather Part II, died at the age of 86 last night.

TMZ was first to report the news, stating that Aiello’s family confirmed he passed away at a medical facility in New Jersey where he was receiving treatment for a sudden illness. 

Fox News also confirmed the news via Aiello’s literary agent.

One of Aiello’s earliest roles included a part in Bang the Drum Slowly, with Robert De Niro. He also had roles in The Godfather Part II, Moonstruck, Do The Right Thing, Fort Apache the Bronx, Once Upon a Time in America, and more. 

He leaves behind his wife, Sandy Cohen, and three children.
