Jill Barber, the East Vancouver musician who has transcended from folk, to jazz, to R&B to now pop will be bringing her distinctive voice and unsurpassed songwriting skills to the Creekside Theatre.

The two time JUNO Award nominee has cut her teeth selling out theatres across Canada and headlining festivals. She has become known for her ability to evoke feelings of a bygone era with her lyrics. She has sold over 100,000 copies of her albums and her 2011 album, Mischievous Moon was locked into the Canadian Jazz Charts for 13 consecutive weeks after debuting in the  twelfth slot of the U.S. Billboard Jazz charts.

This time emerging from her chrysalis into the world of contemporary pop music sounding as she has never been heard before as she continues her musical story that tackles everything from empowerment, sexual politics, as well as, the complications of love and desperation.

The album opens with "The Woman" a track that has a pounding bass drum that builds anticipation for what is to come next.

Barber will perform at the Creekside Theatre in Lake Country Oct. 10, tickets go on sale May 24 and will be available at kelownatickets.com
