More disappointing, but likely expected, news arrived for BC music festival fans on Tuesday.
The popular BassCoast festival based in Merritt has announced its 2021 edition has been “postponed” until July 8-11, 2022.
As a result, tickets purchased for 2021 and subsequent years will be bumped one year forward.
"Without knowing what public health measures will be in place this July, we lack the critical information necessary to contract infrastructure, book artists and secure vendors," said organizers in a statement.
"We feel this decision aligns with our commitment to delivering a safe, immersive experience of the highest calibre."

The news follows a similar postponement by fellow BC festival Shambhala.
Meanwhile, several large scale music festivals south of the border such as Bonaroo and Electric Daisy Carnival are going ahead as scheduled.
BC's current ban on outdoor gatherings of over 10 people will be reconsidered at the end of May.
