Organizers are busy putting the finishing touches on the first annual Okanagan Indigenous Music and Arts Festival set for this summer.

The event will take place over the weekend of July 6 and will feature traditional and contemporary music, dance, cuisine, workshops, art and more!

Both traditional and contemporary Indigenous music performances will grace the stage and attendees can take in workshops ranging from plant foraging to hand drum and rattle making.

“People can watch performances, dancers, music, and comedy, enjoy artistic workshops and Indigenous culinary delights while socializing, and generally immersing themselves in an inclusionary cultural experience,” say organizers.

The weekend will also feature a “fill your basket” vendor’s village where artisans, crafters and fashion designers from across Canada will have booths set up.
