The South Okanagan has been abuzz this week with the release of The Humanity Bureau, a feature film that was shot in the region over the past year.
The Nicholas Cage staring film is set in a dystopian, post apocalyptic world and features plenty of action with several landmarks from the Osoyoos and Oliver areas.
Also featured in The Humanity Bureau is a South Okanagan family that is making a real name for themselves in the film industry.
Destee Klyne, a 30-year-old actor, played the daughter of a revolutionist nomad in sci-fi thriller Humanity Bureau.
Klyne shared the screen not only with Cage but also with her nine-year-old son, Jett Klyne, as well as her husband who performed as a stunt double for actor Hugh Dillon.
The entire family was on hand this week for the film's premiere at Klyne's hometown theatre in Oliver, B.C.
"To watch your family share the screen with an academy award winner in the movie theatre you grew up in is a dream come true," said Kylne.
"It was amazing to share such a nostalgic moment with our community that has been so supportive of mine and Jett’s career."
For eight-year-old Jett, it's the first of several prominent premieres he will be featured in this year.
This summer Jett will have a role in the blockbuster Skyscraper, starring none other than Dwyane 'The Rock' Johnson.
Jett, who has earned 23 acting credits, played a young special agent Jeffery in the popular X-flies reboot that was shot in Vancouver.
The young actor will also be featured in Netflix's highly anticipated Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot later this year.
While Jett's career has already taken to him to Los Angles and New York, a love for the Okanagan will keep the family in the region for the foreseeable future.
