A hometown kid is about to make his theatrical debut in movie theatres and on streaming services across Canada.

Penticton born Piers Bijvoet, 15, will portray the character of Will in the upcoming movie titled Falling

Bijvoet grew up attending Uplands Elementary School before moving to Toronto to pursue a career in acting.

He's since appeared in commercials, music videos, voiceovers, web series, industrial videos and radio shows.

Written, directed and starring three-time Academy Award nominated actor Viggo Mortensen, Falling enjoyed a successful run at Sundance, Cannes, VIFF, TIFF, and many other film festivals.

According to Variety Magazine, Falling will be “more deeply felt than your typical American debut, Falling is unpretentious and perfectly accessible to mainstream audiences” and the Hollywood Reporter called the film “a masterful family drama.”

The film will now be released to North American audiences on February 5th, in theatres, streaming on the Apple TV app, and everywhere you rent or buy movies.
