Meghan Markle is now officially a part of the Royal Family after a much-anticipated fairy tale wedding took place this morning.
Markle, known for her role in the hit television series Suits, married Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex in Windsor at St George’s Chapel in a traditional meets modern ceremony.
Markle showed up to the chapel in a wedding dress designed by Clare Waight Keller, the first female artistic director at the historic French fashion house Givenchy. Keller also designed a veil that has the flower of all 53 countries of the Commonwealth on it at the request of Markle.
As Markle’s father was not able to attend to wedding due to health problems, she was led down the aisle by the Prince Charles of Wales.

After vows were made and the knot was tied, the newlyweds took a carriage procession through the Castle and Windsor to express their gratitude to the public for the messages of support they have received.

Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, wished the couple a happy future together, and at the same time announcing a donation to a Canadian charity to celebrate.

“Today, Canadians joined in celebration as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle," said Trudeau. “Sophie and I congratulate the newlyweds on behalf of the Government of Canada. We wish Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a lifetime of happiness, and all the best as they start this new chapter together. We look forward to welcoming them on a future visit to Canada.”

“To celebrate their union, Canada will donate $50,000 to Jumpstart, a Canadian charity dedicated to making play and sports more accessible to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Since 2005, Jumpstart has helped more than 1.6 million children of all abilities get out on the field and be part of a team."
