Families are flocking to Lions Park in Rutland this afternoon to join in on the fun at the annual Uptown Rutland Business Association Scarecrow Festival.

A staple event in Kelowna to ring in the fall, the festival is known for signature Halloween and autumn-themed activities for attendees of all ages, in addition to harvesting a sense of community.

From bouncy houses and face painting to various food and market vendors, the festival is sure to have something for everyone in your family, all the while forging a strong attitude of supporting our small businesses.

The main attraction for the day is, of course, the scarecrow competition. An interactive event that sees families and neighbours put their creativity to the test to build their own frightful friend for a chance to win prizes.

As always, attendees can commemorate their afternoon of fun in the fallen leaves with an adorable photo with some very friendly scarecrows.

It’s not too late to attend this community-oriented event. All are welcome at the park until 4 pm and admission is free!
