The 15th Half Corked Marathon in the South Okanagan is tomorrow, May 27.

Over 1,000 participants will weave through the vineyards and valleys of the region’s wine-growing areas, along Black Sage Road, the Golden Mile and sections of the Okanagan River.

Between 11 am and 3 pm, runners will cross the finish line at the Oliver Community Park after completing the 24 km route that features samples of wine and bites from Oliver and Osoyoos wineries.

Participants will dress up in costumes based on this year’s theme, Back to the Future, and prizes will be awarded for the best individual costume, best team and best skit.

Runners will have three and a half hours to complete the course, with varying start times.

Endorsed by BC Athletics, participants should be able to run 5 km with some levels of incline over rugged terrain in order to comfortably complete the route in the time allocated.

As always, the Sag Wagon will be ready to transport guests who don’t reach the mid-way point before the cut-off time to the party at the finish line, where everyone is welcome.

Vancouver’s Paella Guys will offer a paella feast and there will be live entertainment and food trucks on location.

Those interested in participating must check-in today, May 26, at Oliver Community Park by 7 pm.
