Body found of missing person from Tappen mudslide

The body of missing person, Roy Frederick Sharp has been located.

The Salmon Arm RCMP assisted crews from the Columbia Shuswap Regional District, the Ministry of Transportation and a private local excavation contractor in the locating and retrieval of Roy's remains from the mudslide debris area.

The 76-year-old was reported missing on the morning of Saturday, May 6th, after a mudslide enveloped the man's home on Sunnybrae Canoe Point Road in Tappen, BC.

Sharp was last seen inside his home the night of the slide.

The Salmon Arm RCMP continues to provide support to Sharp's family and assist the BC Coroners Service with the investigation of Sharp's death.
