Rustle up your amigos and arrive hungry and thirsty for Kelowna's first-ever Tacos & Tequila fiesta.

The inaugural event will be held April 27 at Metro Hub in downtown Kelowna as the ultimate pre-Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Cinco de Mayo is May the 5th, the day in 1862 that Mexican troops fought off invading French forces.

Of course, mucho tacos will be served up at the inaugural Tacos & Tequila event April 27.

As the name of the party indicates, the evening will feature mucho tacos and tequila with tasting stations stocked by local restaurants and bartenders from El Taquero, Cantina del Centro, Broken Anchor, Central Kitchen+Bar, Mid-Town Station and Train Station, Humo Izakaya, Sip 'N Celebrate Your Bar on Wheels and Bar Travelling Man.

Besides the array of tacos and signature tequila cocktails from the classic margarita to innovative concoctions, you'll also be able to vote for your favourite taco, favourite cocktail and favourite pairing.

DJ Inizible will spin the hottest tracks to help set a Mexican street party atmosphere.

Bartenders will be serving up all kinds of tequila drinks at the event.

Taco & Tequila is a signature event of Impact Events, which has also helped organize Kelowna Ribfest, Dine Around, Diner en Blanc and the Kelowna Wine Country Half Marathon.

Tacos & Tequila capitalizes on the worldwide fascination with Mexican culture, cuisine, drink and camaraderie, according to Impact Events.

If you aren't already in Mexico for a holiday, or you need to recreate your last Mexican vacation, Tacos & Tequila is the ticket.

With all the tequila around, the event is for guests age 19+.

Tickets are $70 at https://impactevents.ca/tequila-and-tacos/
