One of downtown Kelowna’s most popular spots to grab a bite and beverage is open once again.

When COVID-19 hit, owners Jared Lee and Devon Murray made a risky decision.

Instead of figuring out a way to offer take-out and delivery services, they decided to double down on planned renovations that would transform Central’s indoor and outdoor space.

“We’ve built a structure with eight-foot high windows around our patio to give us more seating, including 63 new seats that will now be available year-round,” Lee explained to KelownaNow back in April.

“There will also be an additional 35 seat seasonal patio running curbside along Ellis Street, it’s a very large expansion.”

Now, that hard work has paid off and as of 5 pm today, the new space is open to the public.

“It’s been a hell of a year thus far, but we made it,” read a post to the Central Facebook page.

“After four-and-a-half months, our brand new space is open and we cannot wait to host you.”

Along with the revamped building and patio, Central has also made some changes and additions to the menu, which you can see online or, of course, in person!
