A popular Kelowna pizza place has announced its fourth location, which is set to open in the spring.

DunnEnzies Pizza and Pub will be much more than just a pizza place, however, as it takes over the space that once housed the popular Minstrel Café and Bar (4638 Lakeshore Rd).

Co-founder Karyn Mackenzie told KelownaNow that they envision a family friendly space with a all of your favourite DunnEnzies pizzas, a full bar and an expanded menu as well.

She also confirmed that much like the Minstrel Café was in the past, DunnEnzies Pizza and Pub will be home to plenty of live music.

“We are also very excited to announce that this will once again be a live music venue,” said Mackenzie.

“Our team at DunnEnzies are big supporters of live music and we are super excited to have this larger space where we can host local bands and travelling musicians alike.”

While those performances would happen indoors during the winter, there’s a good chance they’ll have some great outdoor shows in the summer.

Mackenzie said they will utilize the incredible outdoor space that once made the Minstrel Café such a popular spot and have no plans of making major changes to it.

“The patio and the gorgeous London plane tree that Kelowna has come to know and love will stay,” said an excited Mackenzie. “We ourselves have dined under that tree in the past and we wouldn’t dream of changing that.”

There will be room for kids to run around, an outdoor dessert and coffee bar, space to host neighbourhood events and more going on in the yard.

Mackenzie told KelownaNow they even have visions of hosting a wide range of events in the space, everything from family gatherings to block parties to small weddings.

“Deb and I live in the Mission and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to create a neighbourhood hang out right in our own backyard,” she said.

The pair expect the new space to be open to the public in March after renovations are complete.

They won’t be changing the layout of the space, it’ll simply be a DunnEnzies style makeover to breathe new life into it.

As an extra bonus for people who live in south Kelowna, the new location will allow DunnEnzies to expand their delivery service into the Mission community, an area their current delivery zones don't reach.
