A new restaurant is set to open in downtown Kelowna this weekend.

Chris Shaften, owner of Krafty Kitchen + Bar, will open his second project, Orchard Room, on Friday.

It’s located just three doors down from Krafty at 269 Lawrence Ave. and will be focused primarily on “vegetable forward cuisine.”

The restaurant promises the largest list of craft ciders in the Okanagan, along with craft cocktails and brunch on weekends.

You can also count on Orchard Room to collaborate with local cideries to create custom ciders in hopes of becoming one of the top spots in Kelowna to grab a cider or a cocktail.

That effort will be led by Mia Papodopoulos, with the assistance of Jared Schmidt, while chef Mike Wilkins will be implementing Shaften’s vision for the food menu.

As for the aesthetic, floral and geometric inspired wallpapers, a white marble quartz top bar and the lighting will evoke a sense of Miami or Havana in the 1940s.

The 30-seat restaurant opens up on Friday and will be open seven days a week from 3 p.m. until late on weekdays and 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on weekends.
