You’re finally going to get rewarded for drinking Tim Hortons coffee.

The Canadian coffee chain has introduced a loyalty program that will reward customers with free food or drink after every seventh visit.

With Tim Rewards, your reward for making seven purchases over 50 cents will be a free hot coffee or tea of any size or a baked good (except Timbits and bagels).

You can either pick up a free reusable loyalty card from any Tim Hortons or download Tim Rewards on your phone to reap the benefits.

If you update your Tim Hortons mobile app, you’ll also be able to track rewards through that.

"Tim Hortons has some of the most loyal guests in Canada and Tims Rewards allows us to say thank you," says Alex Macedo, president of Tim Hortons.

"We heard from our guests that a new rewards program had to be easy to use and redeem, that's why we offer both a reusable card and a digital friendly app."

The move follows in the footsteps of McDonald’s and Starbucks, who have offered loyalty rewards on coffee purchases for some time.

In the coming months, similar to what you see on the McDonald’s app, Tim hortons will be unveiling new personalized offers and discounts through its app.
