Aimed to help both residents and tourists who are looking for new spots to eat and drink outdoors this summer, our patio guide will come in seven parts (each a different neighbourhood) between May 13-19.

These stories will just give you the tip of the iceberg when it comes to patios in a certain area, as we can’t highlight them all, but it gives you a starting point that will surely lead you to other great outdoor spots nearby!

Whether you live in North Rutland, South Rutland or Black Mountain, you probably don’t always want to make the trek downtown to enjoy a pint, a cocktail or happy hour bites.

Not to fret, Rutland has several options to choose from including a craft brewery, local sports bars, family-friendly restaurants and mid to high end restaurants for special occasions.

As a bonus, most of Rutland’s pubs and local eateries have their own patios where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the sun.

If you are finishing your weekend trip to Big White, a family excursion to the various U-picks or wrapping up a round of golf, here are eight patios you can check out.

(Our boundary for Rutland is from around McCurdy Road in the north to and Springfield Road in the south and Banks Road and Black Mountain for east/west.)
