Many workers in any organization have challenges eating properly throughout their day due to packed schedules however, Interior Health's Registered Dietitians are hoping to inspire everyone to eat better.
The dietitians argue that by eating properly it will boost your concentration, productivity and reduce the number of missed days due to illness.

“Studies show that eating healthy at work not only benefits workers – employers benefit too,” say Interior Health's Community Nutrition Program's Dietitian Linda Boyd
Boyd suggests that healthier employees can mean cost reduction in insurance plans, fewer disability days and reduced lost productivity.
The health authority's has some helpful suggestions for local employers to help their workers make healthier food choices.
They suggest providing a fridge, microwave and comfortable eating area to start but also suggest providing healthy food options at meetings.
Milestone celebrations like birthdays should be marked with options such as fresh fruit bouquets.

While many struggle with planning healthy food for business meetings, the provincial government has a helpful resource, Eat Smart - Meet Smart, to assist.
The dietitians strongly urge people to prepare your meals ahead of your work day to ensure you are not tempted to go to the fast food joint or your coffee shop.
