The City of Kamloops Emergency Operations Centre has partially rescinded both the Declaration for State of Local Emergency and the Evacuation Order.
Both the Declaration and Evacuation Order are now rescinded for residents on Irving Place, Parkview Drive, Rhonmore Crescent, Oak Hill Boulevard, and the 2400 block of Westsyde Road following inspections completed to the west of Westsyde Road.

However, the Evacuation Order is still in effect for those living in the Oakdale Mobile Home Park. The City of Kamloops says that Order will be rescinded once inspections are complete.
Those returning to their homes after evacuation should look for notices on their front doors from FortisBC and BC Hydro about reconnection of services. Fortis inspections will not be complete until Friday, July 3rd. Once Fortis has approved gas service reconnection, residents will have to contact a gas contractor to reignite appliances.
The City’s Emergency Social Services Reception Centre is open at Kamloops Yacht Club at 1140 River Street, but it will close at 4 p.m. The Emergency Operations Centre’s public information line (250-828-3895) will also shut down at 4 p.m., but you can call 250-828-3461 after that time. Monitor local media for further information.

Westsyde residents will be able to drop off natural debris like mud, rocks, and branches at no charge at the Mission Flats Landfill until July 13th. However, you need identification with proof of address.
Generous Kamloops residents have been asking how they can help, but Tammy Robertson with the EOC says that currently they’re still evaluating the damage. As of yet, there’s nothing in place for residents to volunteer or donate, but they can check with the Emergency Operations Centre or follow updates for opportunities to help.
