RCMP investigating after body found in Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP confirms that a body has been found in a grassy area near the 1300 block of Columbia Street West.

According to police, a witness came across the body on Wednesday around 4:12 p.m. and immediately contacted the RCMP. The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Serious Crime Unit was dispatched to the location to investigate the discovery.

According to RCMP Sgt. Darren Michels, the death is not believed to be criminal in nature, but an investigation is ongoing. No name has been released, but police said it was a male.
