Kamloops RCMP investigating targeted shooting on North Shore

UPDATE: Kamloops RCMP are looking for three suspects who were seen running from a residence which was shot at on Wednesday morning.

Cpl. Jodie Shelkie confirms that shots were fired at a residence on the 900 block of 13th Street.

A firearm was seized outside of the home, which is known to police, but it is unknown if this was the weapon used to fire at the home.

Three people inside of the home were detained for safety and investigation purposes but were released without charges.

RCMP believe this was a targeted incident but there is no danger to the general public.

Witnesses reported three suspects wearing hoodies running from the residence after the shots were fired.

At least three people have been detained after Kamloops RCMP received reports of shots being fired on the North Shore Wednesday morning.

RCMP attended the residence on the 900 block of 13th Street at Tranquille Road at about 7:30 a.m.

According to Cpl. Jodi Shelkie, at least three people have been detained but have yet to be charged. There are no reports of injuries.

The block has been blocked off and is expected to reopen later this morning.

RCMP ask the public to avoid the area as it is an active crime scene.
