Kamloops cab driver stabbed while on duty

UPDATE (11:25 a.m.): RCMP has released photos and more information about the suspect involved in the stabbing. The suspect is described as Caucasian with short dark hair, a slender build. He was wearing a dark blue hoody with white lettering on the front that said "Crooks & Castles."

A Kamloops cab driver is fighting for his life following a stabbing early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the driver was delivering a fare on Pleasant Street near 8th Avenue when he was stabbed. The male driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Ryal Inland Hospital.

Witnesses report seeing the lone male suspect run from the area just before 2 a.m. and police are working to identify and locate him.

The Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit has been called in to help assist with the investigation. There is no word as to what prompted the stabbing.
