The Kamloops RCMP are now treating the missing person investigation of Jo-Anne Donovan as a homicide.

Police have confirmed that the body of a female was found, and an autopsy will be conducted in order to confirm her identity.

“This is not the outcome that anyone was hoping for,” said Cpl David Marshall of the Kamloops Serious Crime Unit.

“Our investigation has now shifted focus to determine what happened to Jo-Anne.”

The 57-year-old woman was last seen at her home on March 13.

While the investigation remains ongoing, the RCMP says they do not believe there is any risk to the public.

Police are still seeking witnesses who may have seen Donovan or her grey Chevrolet Impala around the time she went missing.

Anyone with information regarding Jo-Anne Donovan is asked to contact the RCMP at (250) 828-3000.
