Two people have been shot in Kamloops in what police believe to be a targeted attack.

The duo – one male and one female – were found wounded in a home in the 1900 block of Tranquille Road at about 4 p.m.

Kamloops RCMP secured the area immediately and the victims were taken to hospital.

Investigators, who are still gathering evidence, do not believe the shootings were a random incident.

“Currently we have numerous police resources, both uniform and plain clothes officers investigating this incident,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said.

“We are asking the public to remain vigilant and mindful of any suspicious activity they may see in the community and report it to police.”

If you have any information that could assist police, you are asked to call 250-828-3000.

To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers on 1-800-222-8477.
