Two people were injured early this morning after a car rear-ended a semi-truck in Kamloops.
Mounties said a small eastbound vehicle “appeared to have failed to keep its distance” from a large truck carrying a trailer in the same direction along Hwy 1.
The car suffered “extensive” damage during the serious crash, police said.
But both occupants – a man and women from Kamloops, both in their 30s – escaped with only minor injuries.
The driver of the semi was not hurt.
It happened at about 2 am near the Copperhead Road exit of Hwy 1.
“While traffic was disrupted for a brief period, police were able to keep the highway open during the investigation and the following clean-up,” Mounties explained.
