Mission Group has announced its proposal for two more towers in Kelowna's downtown core.

The first proposal details a 13-storey office tower that would contain approximately 80,000 square feet of office space, supported by over 18,000 square feet of Bernard Avenue storefront retail.

A second proposal requests a 33-storey residential tower that would hold 217 units.

If approved, both towers would sit adjacent to the 25-storey Brooklyn on Bernard condominium along the 500 block of Bernard Avenue.

Brooklyn on Bernard received the green light from city council last August.

Now that the development permits have been submitted, Mission Group expects both tower proposals to go in front of city council later this year.

“Bernard Block is set to become a cornerstone and gateway to our evolving city centre,” says Lisa Lock, vice president, development, Mission Group.

“With excitement and energy building through the tech industry and entrepreneurship, the downtown core has become a sought-after destination for business and residents alike. Companies of all sizes are attracted by the amenities that only downtown can offer and we are excited to bring Class A office space into the historic Bernard District.”

Construction of the 25-storey, 178 unit Brooklyn on Bernard residential tower is expected to begin in March.
