Kelowna’s Gospel Mission received a big cheque from a recent fundraiser which will benefit the dental clinic at the Mission.

The Oktoberfeast fundraiser was a huge success and as a result the Mission has received a $5,000 gift. The cheque was presented to the Mission staff by John Peacock of Peacock Financial, Dr. Mike Ertel, Chief of Staff at Kelowna General Hospital and Hans Birker, owner of the Bohemian Café. The three worked together to put on the recent event to benefit the Gospel Mission. Oktoberfeast was held on October 25th at the Bohemian Café and featured 30 different wild game tapas. The event included wild boar, ostrich and crocodile.
Shirley Goebel, Director of Dental Services for the Gospel Mission spoke about the event and what it means for the clinic, “It was such a special event to be able to be with so many people who care about the clinic and the food was incredible! These funds will help finish paying off the dental clinic expansion, we are so grateful to John, Mike and Hans!”

Kelowna’s Gospel Mission Dental Clinic started 10 years ago and recently expanded from two chairs to five. The clinic provides patient care for those in the community who do not have access to treatment. All of the services offered at the clinic are on a volunteer basis and more than 3,000 patients have had treatment in it.
