Kelowna Bus Murder Suspect Appears in Court

The man accused of randomly killing a person on a Kelowna city bus in October made a brief court appearance on Tuesday in court.

Tyler Jack Newton, 23, made an appearance via video link from the jail in Port Coquitlam. He is accused of second degree murder in the death of 55 year old Caesar Rosales. Newton was arrested less than 24 hours after Rosales was killed in a random attack on October 30th, 2014. Newton made his first court appearance on November 3rd and has been in jail since October 31st.

Newton is expected to return to Kelowna for his next court appearance and a meeting with his legal counsel. He will appear in court again on Jan 29th, 2015.
