A 21 year old Kelowna has died after the car she was driving went over an embankment off of Highway 33, near the hair pin, Wednesday afternoon.

RCMP responded to a report of a car crash near the 6900 block of Highway 33 East around 4:14 p.m. on Wednesday. Once officers were on scene they immediately saw vehicle tracks leading from the Highway down the nearby embankment. There police discovered a Mitsubishi Lancer approximately 250 down and the occupant deceased.

The driver has been identified as a Kelowna woman but her name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin. RCMP closed that section of the Highway for several hours as a traffic reconstructionist conducted a scene analysis.
