The worst has been realized for the former Kelowna man who went missing near Golden on February 15th.

The Golden/Field RCMP Underwater Recovery Services confirms that Taylor Oelrich has been located. Oelrich, originally from Kelowna but now living in Alberta, went missing on February 15th while on a trip with friends. He was last seen outside the lodge the group was staying at near the Town of Golden.

An exhaustive ground search was conducted for Oelrich with the Golden, Columbia Valley, Kimberley, Fernie and Cranbrook Search and Rescue Teams called in to try to locate the 27 year old. The unsuccessful ground search had RCMP turn their attention to the nearby Columbia River. The police dive team was called in and began their search for Oelrich on February 17th.

His body has now been located. Police have not released any further information regarding the incident.
