Pre-Trial Date Set for Man Charged with Murder on Kelowna Bus

The man accused of stabbing a person on a Kelowna City bus in October made a brief court appearance on Thursday morning.

Twenty-three-year-old Tyler Jack Newton is now scheduled to face the Kelowna courts on August, 28th, 2015 for a pre-trial conference. 

Shortly after the pre-trial conference, Newton is slated to attend court on October 13th for a preliminary inquiry.

The young man is facing second degree murder charges for the death of 55-year-old Caesar Rosales. Rosales was a beloved Kelowna business man. He worked for Kelowna Flightcraft and he was known for his passion for adrenaline sports. 

Newton was arrested on October 30th, 2014, less than 24 hours after Rosales was stabbed to death in a random attack on a City bus.

Newton remains in custody. He made his first court appearance on November 3rd.
