It’s a giant bike with a giant mission.
The Heart&Stroke Big Bike is rolling into Kelowna this week to raise awareness and funds for heart disease and stroke research. Teams of 30 people, with 29 energetic riders and a driver, pedal across the country to raise their goal of $8.5 million. Kelowna’s goal is set at $72,000.

The Big Bike will be in Kelowna on Saturday, May 23rd and again on Tuesday, May 26th through to Thursday, May 28th.
The Hollywood Road Curvettes will be riding for their seventh year in a row on Saturday, and they’ve already raised over $11,000 this year. On Thursday, the City of Kelowna will be riding with four city councillors and Deputy Mayor Tracy Gray. Heart & Stroke Foundation BC CEO Adrienne Bakker will be joining them, with each team member dressed as a superhero. Each rider commits to raising a minimum of $50.

If you want to see the Big Bike in person, it will be riding away at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday May 23rd with the Hollywood Road Curvettes. The superhero team from City of Kelowna will be pedalling off at 12 noon on Thursday, May 28th. Both teams will be leaving from the Rotary Centre for the Arts on Cawston Avenue.
